The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a two vehicle accident Saturday afternoon in Pettis County that injured a Sedalia woman.

The accident occurred around 4:30 on Highway 65 at Hughesville Road. A Ford Focus and a Chevy Equinox were traveling southbound on Highway 65 when the Chevy rear-ended the Ford, as the driver of the Ford was attempting to make a left hand turn at Hughesville Road. The Ford Focus overturned and the Chevy traveled off the left side of the road and came to rest.

The driver of the Ford Focus, identified as 60-year old Anita L. Harmon, of Sedalia, was seriously injured in the wreck and was transported to University Hospital in Columbia for treatment.

The driver of the Chevy, 23-year old Haley N. Hunter, of Sweet Springs, did not report any injuries.

The Highway Patrol was assisted by the Pettis County Sheriff's Department.
