Four Stover residents injured in a Benton County accident Saturday afternoon

At 12:37 on Saturday afternoon, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a one-vehicle accident on Route “U” and Cheese Creek Road in Benton County. The accident reportedly occurred as the driver of a 2001 Mitsubishi Eclipse, 21-year-old Andrew Moesch of Stover, failed to negotiate a curve. The vehicle then skidded across the roadway and off the road where it struck a road sign, impacted an embankment and crossed over Lumpy Avenue before coming to rest in a ditch. Moesch along with three passengers in the vehicle identified as 19-year-old Cody Hill, 39-year-old Glenda Holmes and 20-year-old Veronica Poort, all of Stover, received serious injuries and were transported by air ambulance to area hospitals for treatment.

A Henry County accident Sunday morning injures two victims

Around 10:30 on Sunday morning, two people were reportedly injured in a 3-vehicle crash that happened on County Road Northwest 350 just under a mile East of County Road Northwest 300 in Henry County. The Missouri State Highway Patrol accident report states the accident occurred as the 2008 Harley Davidson Motorcycle driven by 30-year-old  Javan Fisher of Kansas City, Mo. slowed for an animal in the roadway. The report states a 2002 Yahmaha V Star, driven by 29-year-old Nicholas Virchow of Lee's Summit slowed behind the Fisher motorcycle and was struck in the rear by a 2000 Kawasaki Vulcan driven by 31-year-old Lile Fisher of Raytown, causing all three vehicles to overturn, ejecting the drivers. Lile Fisher received serious injuries in the crash and was taken to Research Hospital in Belton for treatment, while Verchow suffered minor injuries and was transported to Golden Valley Hospital in Clinton for treatment.

Higginsville man injured in a Lafayette County accident Saturday afternoon

The Missouri State Highway Patrol with the Lafayette County Sheriff’s and Higginsville Police Departments reported a one-vehicle accident that occurred on Route “MM” West of Missouri Route 13 in Lafayette County. The accident happened when the 2002 Kia driven by 21-year-old Nathan Silkwood of Higginsville traveled off the roadway, impacted a culvert and overturned. Silkwood received moderate injuries, but was released at the scene by Higginsville EMS.
