Missouri State Highway Patrol Accident Reports for February 19, 2019

An accident on February 18 in Saline County claimed the life of a Sweet Springs man. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 51-year-old Russell Sims was driving a 2008 Dodge on MO 127 when he experienced a medical issue around 8 a.m. The vehicle left the roadway and struck a fence and an embankment. Sims was pronounced dead at the scene.

A 17-year-old from Warrensburg suffered moderate injuries in on accident on MO 13 around 11 a.m. on February 18. The Missouri State Highway Patrol says a 2017 Freightliner was stopped to make a turn when it was struck from behind by a 2010 Pontiac Vibe, driven by 17-year-old Ashlee Courville. Courville was taken to Centerpoint Hospital by EMS for treatment. Her vehicle was totaled in the accident.
