The Missouri State Fair will honor the men and women who have served or are currently serving our country with Veteran/Active Military Honoree of the Day, sponsored by Capital Materials, Retrieving Freedom, Inc., and Starline Brass.

Eleven veterans/active duty service members from Missouri (one each day of the fair) will be honored in a Military Flag Retreat ceremony that will take place just outside the old historic Administration Building on the Fairgrounds.

This year’s honorees and their respective ceremony dates and times are:

Perry Burch of Columbia (Navy) – Aug. 8 at 5:15 p.m.
Jack Jackson of St. Albans (Marine Corps) – Aug. 9 at 5:30 p.m.
Edgar “Joe” Dayringer of Kearney (Marine Corps/Army National Guard) – Aug. 10 at 5:30 p.m.
Jack Cottrell of Grant City (Army) – Aug. 11 at 5:30 p.m.
Russell Miller of Columbia (Army) – Aug. 12 at 5:30 p.m.
Beau Williams of Hughesville (Army) – Aug. 13 at 5:30 p.m.
Greg McManus of Rogersville (Army National Guard) – Aug. 14 at 5:30 p.m.
Charlie Guthrie of Marshall (Navy) – Aug. 15 at 5:30 p.m.
Michael B. Garvey of Brookfield (Marine Corps) – Aug. 16 at 5:30 p.m.
Holli D. Meushke of Warrensburg (Air Force) – Aug. 17 at 5:30 p.m.
Gary Lee Earl of Jasper (Army National Guard) – Aug. 18 at 4:30 p.m.
