According to a press release, The University of Missouri Extension will offer the Master Gardener Core Course in Sedalia, beginning September 19th. This course is the entry point to become certified as a Missouri Master Gardener.

The series of ten sessions will be held at the MU Extension Center in Sedalia on Monday and Wednesday evenings from 6:00 to 9:00, September 19th through October 19th. The Master Gardener curriculum is in-depth training in the art and science of horticulture. Topics include vegetable production, turf management, soil science, insects and pest management, fruit production, pruning, woody ornamentals, plant diseases and landscape design.

Instructors are experts from the University of Missouri, Lincoln University, and senior members of the of the local Show-Me Master Gardener club.

The cost of the course is $149 per person and includes all sessions, materials, and one soil lab test. A $15 discount is available for two or more individuals who share one core manual. The deadline to register is Friday, September 9th.
