If you have a daughter attending prom this year and you, or she, wants to save some cash, then head to the Prom Closet in Warrensburg where you might be able to find the perfect dress for $10.00, or a donation of school supplies.

You may be asking me, what's the Prom Closet? Is it a new store in Warrensburg specializing in fancy dresses for weddings, quinceaneras, and proms? No, it's not.

It's Warrensburg Main Street's initiative to help kids save some cash while making sure those dresses from proms past get used again. Warrensburg Main Street has over 50 prom dresses in a variety of dress sizes, lengths, and styles from vintage to cinderella and everything in between. And if you, or your daughter, see a dress you, or she likes, it's yours.

Additionally, Warrensburg Mainstreet's Prom Closet has hair accessories, jewelry, unused makeup, shoes, and more!

There's no cost to come and see if there's something you or your daughter likes. And if you do see something you like Warrensburg Main Street is asking for a $10.00 donation or some school supplies to help Johnson County schools.

That's it. It's certainly an opportunity to save some money on one of the more expensive aspects of going to prom, the dress. Which could be put towards a limo, or an after-prom party, or even used for something else. Like your daughter's college education, or next year's school fees.

Warrensburg Mainstreet's Prom Closet is at 125 c North Holden Street, upstairs from the Salvation Army) in Warrensburg. The Prom Closet is open this Saturday, March 12, from 10 AM - 6 PM CST. Attendees are welcome to try on the dresses. For more information contact events@warrensburgmainstreet.org or call 660-429-3988.
