New Safety Protocols at Arrowhead to Keep Fans Safe

The Chiefs announced how fans will be able to get tickets for the 2020 season, along with a full slate of safety protocols at Arrowhead Stadium to keep fans, staff and the players safe this season.

When it comes to safety protocols the Chiefs are implementing a number of changes. All staff members will be required to undergo a health check when arriving for work which includes a temperature check and questionnaire. Additionally staff will be required to wear personal protective equipment and expected to follow proper hygiene protocols.

Fans will be asked to wear masks at all times when they're not eating or drinking. Practice physical distancing in stands and in lines. And smoking, vaping and spitting (tobacco, sunflower seeds etc.) will be prohibited. Additionally no bags will be permitted in the stadium to reduce contact during the security screening process.

Sales of concessions and souvenirs will be a completely cashless experience at the stadium. In addition to the traditional debit and credit card scan and chip readers, wallet payment types like Apple Pay, Google Pay and Samsung Pay. Additionally the Chiefs will introduce a cashless payment platform called Chiefs Pay which will work with the team's app.

Here's a few other changes for this season:

• Fans may tailgate, but are expected to only tailgate with the people they are sitting with. The Chiefs strongly encourage fans to wear a mask when not eating and drinking. A tailgate free parking zone will be available for fans who prefer that.
• The stadium has been divided into zones to minimize exposure and mingling of fans. You will need to enter the stadium at the gate listed on your ticket.
• Parking needs to be paid for in advance. And no one will be allowed in Arrowhead Stadium's parking lots with a ticket.
• The Chiefs capacity at Arrowhead Stadium has been limited to 22% of capacity to start the season.

Speaking of tickets here's how the Chiefs are dealing with selling tickets with their limited capacity. Single game tickets will be made available to Chiefs season ticket members on Monday August 24. If any tickets remain to be sold, Jackson County residents, and then the public will have an opportunity to purchase tickets. Seats will be sold in grouped pods of seats with up to six seats sold in a pod. Season ticket holders will receive more information on ticket purchases in their email.

The team expects capacity limits to change throughout the course of the season and will announce more on ticket sales when those opportunities present themselves.
