Captain Scott A. Shipers, commanding officer of Troop A, Lee’s Summit, is pleased to announce the assignment of nine new troopers to Troop A.

The new troopers are members of the Missouri State Highway Patrol’s 108th Recruit Class, which graduated from the Missouri State Highway Patrol Law Enforcement Academy today, Dec. 20, 2019. The troopers report for duty on January 6, 2020.

Trooper John L. Colwell, a native of Maryville, Missouri, has been assigned to Zone 2, which serves the citizens of Platte County. Trooper Colwell graduated from Maryville High School in Maryville, Missouri. Upon graduating high school, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. Trooper Colwell is married to Samantha (Wainwright) and they have two children.

Trooper Ethan R. Mulkey, a native of Bixby, Oklahoma, has been assigned to Zone 2, which serves the citizens of Plate County. Trooper Mulkey graduated from Haskell High School in Haskell, Oklahoma. He holds an associate of arts in criminal justice from Tulsa Community College in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Trooper Mulkey is married to Kayla (Guthrie).

Trooper Charles D. Karr, a native of Davenport, Iowa, has been assigned to Zone 3, which serves the citizens of Clay County. Trooper Karr graduated from Davenport Central High School in Davenport, Iowa. He holds a bachelor of arts in english from Iowa Wesleyan University in Mount Pleasant, Iowa. Trooper Karr is married to Crystal (Brinnen) and they have one child.

Trooper James D. Scrivens, a native of Platte City, Missouri, has been assigned to Zone 4, which serves the citizens of Clay County. Trooper Scrivens graduated from Lathrop High School in Lathrop, Missouri. He holds a bachelor of science in criminal justice, as well as a master of applied science in forensic investigation, from Missouri Western University in St. Joseph, Missouri.

Trooper Cyle A. Cundiff, a native of Moberly, Missouri, has been assigned to zone 7, which serves the citizens of Jackson County. Trooper Cundiff graduated from Moberly High School in Moberly, Missouri. He holds a bachelor of science in youth and family ministry from Central Christian College of the Bible in Moberly, Missouri. He is married to Kelci (Weidenaar) and they have one child.

Trooper James A. Crewse, a native of Branson, Missouri, has been assigned to Zone 10, which serves the citizens of Saline County. Trooper Crewse graduated from Branson High School in Branson, Missouri. After high school he attended Missouri State University in Springfield, Missouri, as well as the College of the Ozarks in Point Lookout, Missouri.

Trooper Luke N. Boff, a native of Branson, Missouri, has been assigned to Zone 14, which serves the citizens of Bates County. Trooper Boff graduated from Branson High School in Branson, Missouri. After high school he attended Missouri University of Science and Technology in Rolla, Missouri. Trooper Boff is married to Jodie (Beasley) and they have one child.

Trooper Kainen M. Nance, a native of Nevada, Missouri, has been assigned to Zone 14, which serves the citizens of Bates County. Trooper Nance graduated from Lamar High School in Lamar, Missouri. He holds an associate of arts in criminal justice from Missouri Southern State University in Joplin, Missouri.

Trooper Brady A. Shows, a native of Eldridge, Iowa, has been assigned to Zone 14, which serves the citizens of Bates County. Trooper Shows graduated from North Scott High School in Eldridge, Iowa. After high school he attended Western Illinois University in Macomb, Illinois.
