Oletha Anna Mathilde Wurdeman, 93, of Cole Camp, died Wednesday, March 16, 2016, at Cooper County Memorial Hospital, Boonville.  She was born on November 6, 1922, at her parents’ home near Cole Camp, Missouri, a daughter of William J. and Nora M. (Balke) Ehlers.

On November 17, 1922, she was baptized into Christ at her parents' home by Rev. Ernest Robert.  She attended Trinity Lutheran School at Mt. Hulda.  On April 26, 1936, she was confirmed by Rev. W. O. Petzoldt at Mt. Hulda Lutheran Church near Cole Camp.

On September 30, 1945, she was united in marriage to Clarence Walther Wurdeman at Mt. Hulda Lutheran Church parsonage by Pastor Hertwig.

Oletha was a life-long member of Mt. Hulda Lutheran Church, Cole Camp, where she taught Sunday school and vacation bible school, was a member of the Ladies Aid, and was the organist for a number of years.  She lived and worked on the family farm all her life until due to her health, moved in with her son David in Boonville.  She lived with David and his wife Deloris for two years before a fall in April of 2014.  She then resided at the Cooper County Hospital Extended Care Unit in Boonville until her death.

She is survived by:
her son, David Wurdeman and his wife Deloris of Boonville;
five grandchildren, Brice (Amanda) Wurdeman of Barbados, Tierra (Robert) Felder of Kansas City, Wesley (Debbie) Wurdeman of Independence, Rebecca (Rance) Clifton of Cole Camp, and Crystal Wurdeman of the State of Tennessee;
nine great-grandchildren, Naiyah, Beckett, Paxson, Jace, Piers, Austin, Mariah, Nikolas, and Madison; and
a daughter-in-law, Beatrice Kay Wurdeman of Cole Camp.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Nora Ehlers, her husband, Clarence Wurdeman on November 9, 2005, and her son, Paul Wurdeman on September 25, 2005.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 19, 2016, at Mt. Hulda Lutheran Church, near Cole Camp with  Rev. Allen Braun officiating.  Burial will be in Mt. Hulda Lutheran Cemetery near Cole Camp.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until service time on Saturday at the church.

The family suggests memorial contributions be given to Mt. Hulda Cemetery Fund or W.I.S.E. (Windward Islands School of Evangelism, where Oletha's grandson Brice and family are missionaries) in care of the Fox Funeral Home, Cole Camp.

Pallbearers will be Tierra Felder, Robert Felder, Wesley Wurdeman, Austin Wurdeman, Mariah Wurdeman, and Ronald Henning.
