The Missouri State Highway Patrol says a woman was killed and a man seriously injured when their vehicle was struck by a train.

Thirty-two-year-old Ashley Harder, of Richmond, died in the collision Sunday night just after 9 p.m. in Camden, located in Ray County. The patrol says she was a passenger in a car that went around a train crossing arm before it was struck by a westbound locomotive on Camden Road, south of Front Street.

She was pronounced dead at the scene at 9:22 p.m. by Ray County Coroner Ray Willim.

The driver, 30-year-old Adam T. Allred, also of Richmond, suffered serious injuries and was flown to Centerpoint Hospital for treatment.

The 1998 Ford Escort he was driving was totaled.

According to the report, Allred was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, while Harder was not.
