A 20-year old Otterville resident was taken to University Hospital following a two-vehicle wreck in Pettis County on Wednesday afternoon.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported the wreck at 4:30, on US-65 at Highway D.

According to the online crash report, a 2009 Thomas school bus began to move from a stop in the median and pulled into the path of a 2013 Ford Focus, causing the Ford to strike the right side of the bus. The Ford came to rest blocking Highway D.

The school bus then traveled off the right side of the road, struck a stop sign and came to rest on the west side of Highway D.

The driver of the Ford, 20-year old Faith A. Eigsti, of Otterville, suffered serious injuries. Eigsti was taken to University Hospital by PCAD for treatment.

The driver of the school bus, 37-year old Eric L. Gilbert, of Smithton, was reportedly uninjured.

The Pettis County Sheriff's Department assisted the Patrol at the scene.
