Vehicle Strikes Pedestrian in Johnson County

A 41-year old man was airlifted to a Kansas City hospital after being struck by a vehicle in Johnson County on Saturday night.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported the accident just before 9:00, on Highway 131, south of NW 50 Road.

According to the online crash report, a 1999 Volvo pulled onto the shoulder of the road and exited. The report indicates a male pedestrian was standing in the road and was struck by the Volvo.

The pedestrian, 41-year old Michael D. Hackett, of Lee's Summit, suffered serious injuries in the accident. Hackett was taken to Research Medical, by Life Flight, for treatment.
