Community Cleanup Day Scheduled for June 20
A Community Cleanup Day is scheduled for Pettis County on Saturday, June 20 from 8 a.m., to 2 p.m., at the Sedalia Materials Management Facility at 27882 Highway U (south of Sedalia).
Items will be accepted from Pettis County residents only, no commercial businesses.
A list of acceptable items includes clothes, furniture, up to four tires ($2 charge per tires, without rims; each additional tire beyond four will be charged $5 each), electronic scrap, bulk debris, and two appliances per home. However, refrigerators will not be accepted.
No yard waste or household hazardous waste will be accepted during this event, it should be noted.
At this one-day-only event, there will be a reuse/swap area set up, which will allow residents to “drop & swap” items such as appliances and furniture.
The Community Cleanup Day is sponsored by The City of Sedalia, the Pettis County Commission, Big Brother/Big Sister of Johnson County, West Central Missouri Solid Waste Management District F and the Missouri DNR.
