Today during an open session, the Pettis County Commission announced the appointment of Chris Hoke to be the next Building and Grounds Director for the County of Pettis, effective June 28.

During the event, the Commission also recognized outgoing Building and Grounds Director Bret Manuel and thanked him for his 18 years of service to Pettis County.

Chris Hoke, a dedicated employee of Pettis County for over eight years, has extensive experience and deep understanding of the county's infrastructure, which makes him exceptionally qualified for this leadership role.

Presiding Commissioner Bill Taylor expressed his confidence in Hoke's abilities stating, "Chris has consistently demonstrated a strong work ethic and a commitment to excellence in maintaining our county facilities. He has earned his promotion to Director, and I am confident he will continue to serve our community with the same dedication."

Eastern Commissioner Israel Baeza expressed the importance of this role stating, “The courthouse and grounds is a hub for service to our residents. We have full trust that Director Hoke will play an instrumental role in continuing this legacy of community that this historic building represents."

As the new Building and Grounds Director, Hoke will oversee the maintenance and management of all county-owned properties, ensuring they remain safe, functional, and welcoming for the residents of Pettis County. He will also play a key role in planning and executing future projects to enhance county facilities. Western Commissioner Jim Marcum added, “It’s nice to able to take our employees and develop their skills from our workplace. Chris has mastered all of the maintenance problems we regularly have."

Director Hoke expressed his gratitude for the opportunity, stating, "I am pleased to accept the position of Director of facilities and grounds for the County of Pettis. I would like to express my gratitude for the confidence in my abilities and offering me this opportunity. I’m eager to take on the new challenges that this role will bring, and I will serve the county and its governing body to the best of my abilities."
