Several local industries were recognized at the Economic Development Sedalia-Pettis County Manufacturers’ Milestone Anniversary Banquet held Oct. 16 at the Sedalia Country Club.

 

Board President Rusty Kahrs emceed the event, which spotlighted the following businesses and their owners:

 

Midwest Metal Craft - 10 Years – Ted Melin; Duke Manufacturing - 55 Years - Randy Lines; Treuner Masonry - 55 Years - Andrew Treuner;  Ditzfeld Transfer- 65 Years- Steve & Sam Ditzfeld; Fischer’s Concrete Services- 70 Years- Kenny Jackson; James H Drew Corporation - 75 Years - Bradley Vollmer

 

The following businesses celebrated anniversaries this year but were unable to attend the banquet Thursday night:

RCL Wiring – 20 Years

Sierra Bullets – 35 Years

Sedalia Tool & Manufacturing – 45 Years

Al’s Welding & Iron Works- 50 Years

 

Kahrs explained that Economic Development Sedalia Pettis County focuses on industries that create new economic prosperity within a community.  EDSPC serves the industry sectors of: Manufacturing, Distribution, Warehouse, Logistics, Technology & Headquarters locations.

 

“Throughout the last eight years, Economic Development has successfully worked with new and existing businesses to create over 1200 new jobs, 1800 retained jobs and new capital investment of $430 million.  We are truly a thriving community.

 

“Our manufacturers encompass nearly 40 percent of the employment base in Pettis County.  Each year we take this opportunity to pay tribute to the companies within those sectors we serve who are celebrating Milestone Anniversaries in Sedalia and Pettis County in five-year increments,” Kahrs explained.

In closing, Kahrs noted that “these companies and the longevity they represent are not something we take lightly.  They employ many individuals, who have families and children in our schools, shop locally, pay taxes, and contribute to the success of our local economy.

 

Our economy directly ties to these companies and our manufacturing family as a whole.  Thank you to all of our manufacturing community for all you have done to have your company here in Sedalia and Pettis County.”
