School children from Kindergarten through grade 12 who need school supplies can get them for free in Sedalia Monday and Tuesday next week from C.A.C.T.U.S., Community and Children Teaming Up 4 Success.

C.A.C.T.U.S. is a nonprofit organization located here in Sedalia which acquires and distributes school supplies who need them throughout Pettis County. Its mission is to ensure that every student in Pettis County has the supplies they need to get a proper education. C.A.C.T.U.S. is a volunteer organization with no paid workers and no government assistance. They are dependent on the community for support and are a United Way agency.

Those wishing to receive supplies from C.A.C.T.U.S are being asked to fill out a registration form which they can find on the C.A.C.T.U.S. Facebook page, or which can be downloaded here, printed, and filled out. This form can also be filled out when you pick up school supplies on site.

This year students who need school supplies can get them from C.A.C.T.U.S. on Monday, August 8, and Tuesday, August 9 behind Convention Hall in Liberty Park. Like last year, pick-up days and times have been determined by the last name of the parent:

A-C Monday, August 8 between 4-5 PM

D-G Monday, August 8 between 5-6 PM

H-K Tuesday, August 9 between 10-11 AM

L-O Tuesday, August 9 between 11-12 Noon

P-S Tuesday, August 9 between 1-2 PM

T-Z Tuesday, August 9 between 2-3 PM

Anyone - Tuesday, August 9 between 4-6 PM

C.A.C.T.U.S. asks that parents and students come during their assigned time and not earlier. Those who can't come when scheduled, should come between 4 PM -6 PM on Tuesday or send someone else with a note to pick up supplies.
