According to the film makers' story, after stumbling on a box of money in a dumpster, a chess prodigy and a poker hustler are thrust into a dangerous game of power, manipulation and survival. The Queen’s Gambit meets Death Note with the do-it-yourself intensity of Primer.
The film is written & directed by Carter Breaux.
Cinematography is by Taylor Hoos.
Art Direction is from Paige Jones & Hannah Herzog
The film stars Jachin Like, Ethan O’Neal, Jeshua Gettling, Remington Jarvis and Nicole Hall.
The trailer has had over 3900 views on You Tube since June 1.
According to Hoos, of Kansas City, formerly from Green Ridge, he and Breaux made the film in the Springfield, Mo., area with the help of local crew and talent.
The film premieres Friday night at Sedalia Galaxy 10, with two showings, followed by a charity poker tournament at the theater. “So not only can you come watch a movie made by local filmmakers, you can try your luck in poker for a great cause,” Hoos said on Facebook.
