A restaurant’s surveillance footage captured a Pettis County Sheriff’s Deputy fatally shoot a woman, and investigators are trying to determine whether the woman also recorded the encounter.

In search warrants, a Missouri State Highway Patrol investigator described the video as showing the Pettis County deputy make contact with 25-year-old Hannah Renee Fizer on June 13 around 10 p.m., before drawing his gun during a traffic stop after Fizer allegedly ran a stop light.

The deadly incident happened just off US Highway 50 near Winchester, between Lemaire's Catfish and Asian Buffet.

The Kansas City Star reports that Fizer can be seen moving in her car before the deputy fired his weapon. The Star has not obtained or seen the video.

Such evidence is normally closed to public view during an active investigation.

The MSHP's Division of Drug and Crime Control is currently investigating the shooting at the request of the Pettis County Sheriff's Office.

Fizer, of Sedalia, was a 2014 graduate of Marshall High School, and was reportedly on her way to work at Eagle Stop when the fatal encounter occurred.
