Smith-Cotton High School senior Jeremy Acosta has accepted an athletic scholarship to compete in swimming at Notre Dame College in South Euclid, Ohio.

Acosta, the son of Norma and Gabriel Acosta, is a four-year varsity swimming letter winner and was the Tigers’ team captain his senior year.

He qualified for the MSHSAA state meet three years and was selected to the All-Conference team in the 500-yard freestyle, 200-yard freestyle and the 200-yard individual medley events. He holds Smith-Cotton boys swimming records in the 200-yard individual medley, 100-yard butterfly, 500-yard freestyle, 100-yard backstroke and as a member of the 200-yard medley relay team.

S-C Swimming and Diving Head Coach Jerry Tankersley said, “Jeremy is a hard worker and will be an excellent addition to Notre Dame's team.”
