S-C’s Bilbruck To Be Mascot At Columbia College
Smith-Cotton High School senior Aaron Bilbruck has accepted an academic and athletic scholarship to perform as the mascot for the spirit squat at Columbia College in Columbia.
Bilbruck, the son of Hillarie and Caleb Bilbruck, performed as the S-C tiger mascot for five seasons.
Through his high school years, he has participated in the S-C JROTC Tiger Battalion, show choir, track, wrestling and cross country. Columbia College Cheerleading Head Coach Danniele Liles said Bilbruck will promote school spirit as Scooter the Cougar at not only athletic events, but also at other campus and alumni activities.\
Bilbruck is the first student to be the designated mascot, which Liles said will give the character a consistent personality.
“I’m really excited to see our mascot make a big impression on campus, interacting with all of our students and our faculty and our alumni,” she said. “He’ll be all over the place.” S-C Cheerleading Head Coach LeAnne Caston said: "Aaron is the best! He takes his role as a mascot to heart and enjoys every minute of it. He is a great example of what school spirit should be and he has brought so many smiles to so many faces. I’m so excited to see him continue as a mascot. Columbia College is so lucky to have him.”
