Scramble for The Missouri Veterans Home in Warrensburg with Golf Tournament [INTERVIEW]

Around this time of year, people want to be outside. They want to be outside playing sports, seeing the sights, just enjoying the weather. You like that kind of stuff - and so do the veterans who live at the Missouri Veterans home. They like to go and see the zoo, the Air Bases, and just get out and about. But unfortuatnely that takes gas money and other expenses. Want to make a difference in the life of a veteran? Bring a team to the Scramble for Freedom Golf Tournament on June 1, sponsored by the West Central Missouri Veterans Assistance League. Proceeds will enhance the lives of the 200 veterans who live at the Missouri Veterans Home in Warrensburg, helping them to get the supplies they need and the scratch to get out of the house every now and then.  I got to talk with Latisha Koetting, director of volunteer services at Missouri Veterans Home, about how you can help them on several different levels while also having a great time in the outdoors.

Registration begins at 10:30 a.m. at Royal Oaks Golf Course in Knob Noster. Lunch will follow and a shot gun start will be at 1 p.m. Hole and golf cart sponsorships are also needed.
