Johnson County Community Health Services announced a second positive case of the coronavirus in Johnson County this morning, March 25.

Warrensburg's Daily Star Journal reports this second case of COVID-19 is also the second on Whiteman Air Force Base. The newspaper says the case was confirmed Wednesday and involves "an adult, military member assigned to the 131st Aircraft Maintenance Squadron."

The patient is currently in isolation, following the guidelines of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and Whiteman Air Force Base's public health office.

Col. Jeffrey Schreiner, 509th Bomb Wing commander told the news paper that the member's unit has proactively taken precautions to stop the spread of the virus at their work-centers. Col. Schreiner went on to tell the newspaper that Team Whiteman has also implemented staggered schedules and strict hygiene and cleaning policies to combat the virus.
