A Sedalia man was arrested on February 16 after police were dispatched to a motel in the 2400 block of Broadway on a theft report. Police were told that two handguns and a large amount of cash had been stolen from inside a truck. A suspect was identified after video footage from the motel was reviewed. Officers attempted to make contact with the suspect, but he had already left. The individual who had rented the room, 50-year-old Eric Brian Franken, was arrested on unrelated municipal warrants. The suspect in the theft is still at large.


On February 14 Sedalia Police responded to Casey's in the 1600 block of E. Broadway. A caller told police that a man came into the store that appeared to be stabbed or shot. The subject left in a vehicle before officers arrived, but was located a short time later, and it was discovered that the incident was a prank. Police say marijuana and drug paraphernalia were located during a search of the vehicle, and 18-year-old Jordan R. Durland, was issued a summons for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.


Sedalia Police conducted a traffic stop on February 13 on a vehicle that allegedly failed to stop for a school bus with its stop sign displayed. According to a police report, 28-year-old Csena Dove Silkwood was found to be on probation and parole for drug-related offenses. Consent to search the vehicle was granted, and police say prescription pills were located. Silkwood was placed under arrest and transported to the Pettis County Jail.


A Warsaw man was arrested on a felony Benton County warrant, and for possession of marijuana, on February 18. The Missouri State Highway Patrol says 20-year-old Devin M. Coke was arrested around 9:18 p.m. and was taken to the Benton County Jail.
