Sedalia Area Crime Reports for January 24, 2019
A 41-year-old Sedalia man was arrested on January 23 after police reported finding methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia during a traffic stop that took place at N. Missouri Ave and W. Morgan St. Sedalia Police say Scotty Joe Franklin was placed on a 24-hour hold for possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
The Sedalia Police Department took a report of theft from the 3100 block of S. Limit Ave. around 8:40 a.m. on January 23. It was reported that a battery and two propane tanks had been stolen overnight from a trailer parked on a private lot. No suspects have been identified in the case.
A Knob Noster man was taken to the Warrensburg Police Department just after 2 p.m. on January 23. The Missouri State Highway Patrol says 23-year-old Weslee M. Pilkinton was arrested for failure to drive in the right side of the roadway (resulting in a crash), no valid plates, no insurance, and driving while intoxicated.
Police were called to Casey's on E. Broadway on January 22 where a customer reportedly attempted to pass counterfeit currency. Police say the customer was unaware that the currency wasn't real, and no charges are bought pursued.
