A Sedalia man was arrested just after 11 a.m. on January 23 after officers responded to a domestic disturbance in the 1300 block of S. Osage. Sedalia Police say an investigation determined that a father had assaulted his 15-year-old son on January 19, causing cuts and bruises. 41-year-old Travis L. Edgar was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail for third degree domestic assault.


Sedalia Police arrested a 52-year-old Sedalia woman for stealing on January 23 at Woods Supermarket on E. Broadway. According to a police report, Elena Garcia Hickman was caught stealing a bottle of gin. Hickman reportedly admitted to the theft. She was taken to Bothwell Regional Health Center for the treatment of injuries received the previous night. Police will be submitting charges of theft against the suspect.


Sedalia Police conducted a traffic stop around 10:30 p.m. on January 23 near the intersection of Daryl Drive and Thompson Blvd. Police say the driver was found to be driving without a valid license, and a juvenile occupant was in possession of marijuana. The driver was released from the scene with a citation. The occupant was released to a parent with a juvenile referral pending.


A 38-year-old Sedalia man was arrested on January 24 after police responded to a trespassing complaint in the 1200 block of E. 11th St. A caller told police that her daughter's boyfriend would not leave her house. Christopher Stanley Long was found to have two felony warrants. One warrant was from Pettis County for domestic assault, which had a bond of $7,500. The other was from Miller County. That warrant had no bond. Long was placed under arrest.
