Sedalia Police were dispatched to the 600 block of E. 14th St. on May 9 for a reported robbery. Police were told that a woman was robbed while washing her vehicle at a car wash at E. Broadway Blvd. and S. Montgomery Ave. The victim said that a white male wearing a dark colored hoodie displayed a gun and took her iPhone and approximately $300 in cash. The suspect gave the woman instructions on how to leave the car wash. The victim, being from out of town, drove to the nearest public place and police were called. The victim was not injured during the incident.


On May 9, Sedalia Police responded to American Inn on S. Limit Ave. in reference to a possible burglary. A man was trying to break into the front office. Management decided that they did not want to pursue charges for damages. The suspect, 26-year-old Tyler Dean Stayden, was transported to the Pettis County Jail and placed on a 12-hour protective custody hold.


A May 8 traffic stop near W. 3rd St. an S. Park Ave. led to the arrests of two Sedalia residents. Sedalia Police say a gray Mercury passenger car with expired plates that were registered to another vehicle was stopped at approximately 6:40 p.m. Police made contact with the driver and two occupants, one was found to be in possession of methamphetamine and another had an open container of alcohol. 47-year-old Kimberly Marie Hopkins was arrested for drug possession and possession of drug paraphernalia. 59-year-old Paul Norman Waller received a court summons for open container.


On May 8, Sedalia Police responded to Best Western on S. Limit in reference to a disturbance. A couple was reportedly arguing and being loud. Police discovered that one of the subjects had a warrant issued by the Bureau of Immigration and Customs. 39-year-old Pablo Elizalde Aguero was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail.
