A 20-year-old Sedalia man was arrested on May 8 after police responded to the 3800 block of E. Broadway Blvd. on a report of a man acting strangely. Police say the suspect was located in a parking lot, and it was discovered that he was in possession of marijuana, controlled substances and drug paraphernalia. Christopher J. Perry was taken to the Pettis County Jail where he was placed on a 24-hour hold, pending the filing of formal charges.


Sedalia Police were called to a hit-and-run accident in the 700 block of E. Broadway Blvd. on May 8 just after 12 p.m. A witness told police that a white Nissan backed into a 2004 Chevrolet and left the scene. The witness was able to provide a license plate for the suspect vehicle, and a description of the driver. The suspect has not yet been located. The incident remains under investigation.


On May 8, Pettis County Deputies responded to the 30000 block of Boonville Rd. for a domestic disturbance in progress. Melvin Patrick Burnett was placed under arrest for a 12-hour protective custody hold.


Two Sedalia residents were arrested on felony charges of heroin possession and possession of drug paraphernalia. The Missouri State Highway Patrol says 70-year-old David W. Mathis and 30-year-old Samantha R. Jacobs were taken into custody just before 9 p.m. on May 7. Mathis and Jacobs were transported to the Boone County Jail.
