A 21-year-old Sedalia man was issued a municipal summons for marijuana possession  after he was stopped by police around 12:13 a.m. on November 18. Police say Trenton S. Webb was observed walking eastbound on E. 4th St. between S. Porter Ave. and S. New York Ave., and was discovered to be in possession of marijuana.


A 31-year-old Sedalia man was arrested on multiple charges on November 17 after police stopped a vehicle near the intersection of E. 5th St. and S. Hancock Ave. Police say the driver of the vehicle, Nicholas A. Howe, was arrested for driving while suspended, three active/confirmed Pettis County warrants for traffic offenses, and three active/confirmed warrants from the City of Sedalia for traffic offenses. Howe was transported to the Pettis County Jail.


An intoxicated man who was reportedly trying to enter a residence in the 1200 block of W. 16th St. was arrested by Sedalia officers and Pettis County deputies on November 17. According to a police report, 47-year-old Dennis S. Schirlls was located on the front porch of the residence and yelled at officers. He was arrested for trespassing, property damage, and peace disturbance. Schirlls was taken to the Bothwell Regional Health Center emergency room where he was deemed fit for confinement. Schirlls was taken to the Pettis County Jail, where he was booked and released on the charges pending a state court date, with the condition that he was held until sober.


Officers were dispatched around 1:43 a.m. to Pizza Hut in the 1400 block of S. Limit in reference to suspicious activity. A caller reported that an occupied vehicle had been in the back of the parking lot while the restaurant was closed. Police made contact with suspects in the vehicle and reportedly discovered marijuana and alcohol. A juvenile in the vehicle was taken to a parent. A 17-year-old occupant was issued a court summons and released at the scene.


Sedalia Police arrested a 19-year-old woman on November 16 for third degree domestic assault. Officers were dispatched just before 3 a.m. to an address in the 1500 block of E. 4th St. and took a complaint from a man who said that he had been struck in the face during an argument. The suspect denied that anything physical happened, but police reported observing swelling and bruising under one of the victim's eyes. Chella B. Washburn was arrested and placed on a 24-hour hold at the Pettis County Jail.


A traffic stop around 11:47 p.m. on November 16 led to the arrest of a Sedalia woman on forgery charges. Police say a vehicle was stopped north of Tiger Pride Blvd. on S. Limit for improper registration. During an investigation, it was determined that tags on the license plate had been forged. 26-year-old Sierra D. Breining was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail, where she was placed on a 24-hour hold.


A Sedalia woman was issued a municipal summons for stealing on November 16. Police were dispatched to a business in the 3200 block of W. Broadway on a shoplifting complaint. According to a police report, nearly $150 worth of merchandise had been stolen by 51-year-old Diane L. Hoskins.


A traffic stop around 11:43 p.m. on November 15 reportedly led to the discovery of marijuana inside a bag belonging to the vehicle's driver. 21-year-old Jasmine D. Hagan was issued a municipal summons for possession of marijuana with a court date of December 12.


On November 15, deputies took a report of damage to jail property at the Pettis County Jail. Charges are pending at this time.


Sedalia Police stopped a vehicle with a headlight out on November 12 around 8:15 p.m. and reportedly discovered marijuana during a search of the car. 24-year-old Shareese D. Harper was released from the scene with a municipal summons for marijuana possession and was given a court date of December 12.
