Funeral Announcements for September 2, 2026

A funeral for Juan Nuci Villegas, 93, of Sedalia, will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 2 at Primera Iglesia Bautista Hispana de Sedalia, 600 S. Summit. Arrangements are in the care of Heckart Funeral Home.

Visitation for Michael Wayne Blum, 70, of Sedalia, will be 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 4 at Heckart Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 5 at Heckart Funeral Home. Private family burial will follow in Smithton Cemetery.

Funeral service for James Ray Abey, 45, of Cole Camp, will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 3 at Holy Cross Lutheran Church near Cole Camp.  Burial will be in Holy Cross Lutheran Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 2 at the Fred E. Davis Multipurpose Center at State Fair Community College.

A celebration of life for Gary Blake, 79, Sedalia, will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 3 at Rea Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery, Higginsville at 1 p.m.

A funeral service for Carolyn Louise Miller, 85, of Sedalia, will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 4 at the First United Methodist Church, 916 Thompson Blvd. The family will receive visitors at 10 a.m., one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at La Monte Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Rea Funeral Chapel.

Private graveside services with full military honors conducted by the United States Navy and VFW Post #2591 will be held at a later date for Larry Jay Yunt, 81, of Sedalia, at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Higginsville. A celebration of life will be held for family and friends at the Sedalia Moose Lodge, at a later date. Cremation arrangements are in care of Rea Funeral Chapel.

The family of Cynthia R. Brodersen, 88, of Otterville, will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 2 at First Baptist Church of Tipton. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 3 at the church. Burial will follow in Syracuse Cemetery. Arrangements are in care of Heckart Funeral Home.

Visitation for Georgia Belle Soldan, 87, of Smithton, will begin at 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 5 at Heckart Funeral Home with the funeral service to follow at 2 p.m. Graveside services and burial will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 12 at Ford Cemetery in Ford, Kanas.

A celebration of life for Kelly Leann Burkholder, 65, of Sedalia, will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 10 at First Christian Church. The family will receive friends from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. prior to the service at the church. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are in care of Rea Funeral Chapel.
