Funeral Announcements for October 2, 2026

A celebration of life for Steven Floyd Giffen, 69, of Sedalia,  will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 6 at the Mattingly Building, 323 S. Miller Street, Sweet Springs. Arrangements are under the direction of Rea Funeral Chapel.

Graveside service for Barbara J. Wenig, 95, of Sedalia, will be Friday, Oct. 2 at 11 a.m. at Highland Sacred Gardens Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. Friday at McLaughlin Funeral Chapel.

Funeral service for Kenneth C. Fischer, age 81, of Versailles, will be on Monday, Oct. 5 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Stover at 10 a.m. with interment with military honors at the St. Paul’s Annex portion of Stover Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday, Oct. 5 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church at 9 a.m. Arrangements are in care of Scrivner-Page-Dady Funeral Home.

The family of Dorothy L. Eckhoff, 98, of Cole Camp, will receive friends beginning at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 2 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Cole Camp where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Burial will be in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery near Cole Camp.  Arrangements are in care of Fox Funeral Home.

Visitation for Efigenia Sandoval de Berganza, 62, of Sedalia, will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 3 at Heckart Funeral Home. She will be buried in Texis, El Salvador.

Memorial services will be held at a later date for Linda Lee Davis, 81, of Sedalia. Burial will be in Dority Cemetery near Climax Springs. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Heckart Funeral Home.

A private burial will be held by the family at a later date for Teresa L. Dove, 60, of Sedalia. Arrangements are under the direction of Rea Funeral Chapel.

A celebration of life for John Robert Crook Jr., 70, of Sedalia, will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 7 at Rea Funeral Chapel. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service at the chapel. There will be a private family burial at a later date at Highland Sacred Gardens.

A Celebration of Life for Douglas L. Retherford, 55, of Clinton will be held 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 10 at the Vansant-Mills Chapel in Clinton, Mo. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service from 2 to 3 p.m. The family asked everyone to gather at the Clinton Elk's Lodge after the service to continue celebrating Doug's Life.
