The Sedalia Fire Department and Police Department responded to a reported house fire at a vacant home at the intersection of Wilkerson and Harrison last night (Jan. 16) at 8:18 p.m.

When Sedalia Police arrived, they saw flames shooting from a second story window and high winds in the area whipping a power line against the side of the house, causing it to arc and spark. The Sedalia Fire Department extinguished the flames, but were hampered by the high winds and extremely cold temperatures.

Sedalia Police and Fire Department reported there were extensive damage to the interior of the home.
