Sedalia Police arrested a man who was wielding a machete late Wednesday night.

According to a report, 33-year-old David A. Singleton of Sedalia was contacted after police were notified there was a man pacing up & down the block in the 300 block of West 7th, throwing rocks a little after 11 p.m.

Police say Singleton was uncooperative and he refused to put down a machete, while at the same time yelling at officers to kill him.

A foot pursuit followed and Singleton was apprehended and taken into custody a short time later without further incident.

He was taken to the Pettis County Jail on a 24-hour hold for safekeeping, pending the filing of state charges of resisting arrest.
