Sedalia Police attempted to stop a vehicle at 7th and Montgomery at 1:40 a.m. Friday, but it failed to yield to the officer and a high-speed pursuit began, traveling through several city streets until it came to a conclusion with the aid of stop sticks near Broadway and Crescent.

The driver allegedly threw out a meth pipe prior to stopping.

The driver, 34-year-old David J. Peak of Sedalia, was taken into custody and charged with felony possession of methamphetamine, felony possession of drug paraphernalia, felony resisting arrest, two counts of felony tampering with evidence, misdemeanor possession of a prohibited weapon, misdemeanor possession of marijuana and driving while revoked.

Peak was transported to the Pettis County Jail.
