Pettis County Man Accidentally Killed While Logging

The Pettis County Sheriff's Department reports that 46-year-old Nicholas Mettenburg of Florence was accidentally killed while logging on Thursday, March 20. Mettenburg was working on timber when a portion of a tree fell on him, causing fatal injuries.

Pettis County Deputies Investigate One Theft

A man in the 1300 Block of Boonville Road reported to Pettis County Deputies that someone stole a Playstation 3, valued at $150, from his home on March 22.

Several Disturbances Reported

Pettis County Deputies were dispatched yesterday, (March 23) to the area of Stuhner Road and Highway V in reference to illegal dumping of trash. The victim found several bags of burnt trash along his property.

A woman in the 1100 Block of East 9th Street reported to Sedalia Police that a man entered their yard and disturbed a child.

Employees of Bothwell Regional Health Center reported to Sedalia Police that a person with a collection agency called the hospital asking for information and harassed the switchboard operators by calling 50 times in a two hour span.

Sedalia Police Investigate a Hit-and-Run Accident

Sedalia Police investigated a reported hit-and-run accident in the Walmart parking lot on March 19. A man noticed his right tail light was broken on his vehicle, which may have been caused by a shopping cart.

Gun Found In Flat Creek

Pettis County Deputies recovered a sawed off Remington shotgun that was found in the Flat Creek by the Flat Creek Bridge on Highway U on Saturday (March 22).

Several Arrests Made

Sedalia Police arrested Charles Card for a public peace disturbance for yelling a racial slur to disturb another subject.

Sedalia Police arrested Miguel Rubio-Marcos for driving while suspended, bond set at $533.50 cash/surety.

Sedalia Police arrested Doug Reddinger for failure to appear, bond set at $142.50.

Sedalia Police arrested Shawn Spencer for failure to appear and possession of meth, bond was set at $40.40 for the warrant.

Sedalia Police arrested Justyn Barrett for two failure to appear charges out of Pettis County, one failure to appear charge out of Henry County, a probation violation and identity theft.

Sedalia Police arrested Wayne Coslet for driving while suspended.
