The following Sedalia Police and Pettis County Sheriff's crime reports are from the morning of Monday, March 16, 2015.

Sedalia Police received a report of identity theft on March 12. A man reported to Sedalia Police that his step-son used his name to get utilities in another state. According to Sedalia Police, the suspect is in jail on other charges.

Sedalia Police received a report of a possible case of identity theft and forgery. A woman received a report from the IRS that they needed identification, due to someone already submitting a tax return with her name.

Pettis County Deputies were dispatched to the area of Smasal Road and Highway 65 in reference to a burglary not in progress. The victim reported that someone forced open a front door, sometime between March 7 and 13.

An aggressive pit bull mix bit a person on the left ring finger and another dog was attacked by a pit bull in the area of South Porter and East 7th on March 11. Sedalia Police were able to contain the dog in his patrol vehicle and took the dog to the Sedalia Animal Shelter for his 10-day quarantine.

Pettis County Deputies received several 911 calls fron the area of East Broadway and Crestview Drive on Saturday morning, March 14. The Pettis County Deputies responded to the home and found a child was playing with a cell phone. The Deputy explained to the child and the mother about the 911 misuse and there are no charges pending at this time.

Sedalia Police arrested Donnie Friend for failure to appear-misdemeanor and had a warrant out of Boone County for failure to appear, bond set at $7,500.

Sedalia Police arrested Ashley Ransdell for failure to appear-misdemeanor, bond set at $1,250 cash/surety.

Sedalia Police arrested Christopher Edwards for two failure to appear charges of a misdemeanor, bond set at $407.

Pettis County Deputies arrested Jon Zaremba for charges of 2nd degree assault on a law enforcement officer, resisting arrest (felony), possession of a controlled substance (meth), possession of drug paraphernalia, 2nd degree property damage and possession of a controlled substance with the intent to distribute.

Sedalia Police arrested Billy Brown for being a fugitive from out of state.

Pettis County Deputies arrested Anthony Schlueter on an active warrant.

Sedalia Police arrested Travis Millsap for domestic assault in the 3rd degree.

Sedalia Police arrested Cassandra Sutton for domestic assault in the 2nd degree.

Sedalia Police arrested Elizabeth Mattson for driving while suspended.

Yesterday (March 15), there was a one-vehicle accident that happened at South Prospect and West 16th. 22-year-old Morgan Johnson, was driving on West 16th and just passed South Grand, when she fell asleep, while driving. Johnson ran off the roadway to the right and struck a utility pole on the northwest corner of West 16th and South Prospect. Johnson did not complain of injuries, but her vehicle suffered major damage to the front end of the vehicle.

There was a two-vehicle accident at East 11th and South Engineer at 5:54 in the afternoon on March 11. 16-year-old Heaven Mccue was traveling eastbound on East 11th and collided with a vehicle driven by 24-year-old Maria Murillo Paredes, when she was going south on Engineer. McCue and a passenger of Paredes, Luis Magana-Medira, went to Bothwell Regional Health Center with minor injuries. Both vehicles sustained moderate damage and had to be towed from the scene.
