Sedalia Police say officers recovered marijuana and drug paraphernalia that had been thrown from a vehicle involved in an accident around 1 a.m. on August 6. According to a police report, a plastic potato chip container containing marijuana and paraphernalia was found and the suspect, 22-year-old Traven Sanders of Fremont, Missouri, admitted to possession of the marijuana and paraphernalia. Sanders was issued a municipal summons.


Sedalia Police stopped a vehicle around 1 a.m. on August 6 near W. 16th St. and S. Prospect Ave. after receiving reports of an intoxicated driver. Police say the driver, 42-year-old Geoffrey Aaron Waddle of Centerview, had a suspended driver's license and a Pettis County warrant for failing to appear for a DWI charge. Police say they determined Waddle was intoxicated and took him to the Sedalia Police Department to continue a DWI investigation. Waddle was later taken to the Pettis County Jail.


Officers on patrol in the area of W. Main and Winchester reported finding a running vehicle with the river's door halfway open around 4:30 a.m. on August 6. After stopping to check on the vehicle, officers say they found 37-year-old Joshua James Mabrey of Sedalia passed out behind the wheel. Mabrey was placed under arrest for driving while intoxicated. He was booked and released from the Pettis County Jail, pending city charges.


Police were dispatched to the 300 block of E. Clay St. for a domestic disturbance around 10:45 p.m. on August 5. While investigating, police made contact with two people. One of them was arrested for municipal offenses of loud noise, public peace disturbance and resisting arrest. 40-year-old Misty Rhea Logan was taken to the Pettis County Jail.


The Pettis County Sheriff's Office is investigating the theft of an RV in the 10000 block of US 50. The RV was later recovered in the Knob Noster area. An investigation continues.
