Sedalia Police and Pettis County Sheriff’s Office Crime Reports for December 18, 2017
Sedalia Police made four arrests on December 17 after initiating a traffic stop on a vehicle in the 3000 block of W. Broadway Blvd. According to Sedalia Police, officers attempted to stop the vehicle for a registration violation when the driver drove over a curb and fled. The vehicle turned south on Thompson Blvd. The driver and three passengers then reportedly got out and fled on foot. All four suspects were apprehended and transported to the Pettis County Jail for drug possession related charges and resisting arrest. The suspects were identified as 26-year-old Damien Prentice Cloe, 18-year-old Noah Jaden Heston, 24-year-old Cora Jean Comfort and 36-year-old Lindsey M. Watkins.
A man with active warrants was arrested on December 17 after he was reportedly struck by a vehicle near Broadway and Limit. According to a police report, officers responded to a call of a man that had been struck by a vehicle, but ran from the scene. Police found the man near Broadway Blvd. and Industrial Dr. An investigation revealed that he had not been injured and the vehicle was not damaged. However, police confirmed warrants from Pettis County and Benton County. 37-year-old Aaron M. Stevenson of Sedalia was arrested on the warrants and was taken to the Pettis County Jail.
Deputies from the Pettis County Sheriff's Office, Missouri State Highway Patrol Troopers, and officers from the Sedalia Police Department were involved in a "lengthy pursuit" of a stolen vehicle through Sedalia and Pettis County on December 16. Authorities took a report of a black 2017 Dodge Challenger being stolen from the 700 block of E. 9th Street around 10:15 a.m. The vehicle was located later in the day and a traffic stop was initiated by a Sedalia officer. The vehicle then reportedly fled and was finally stopped on S. 65 Highway south of Claycomb Rd. 35-year-old Kristi A. Wiser was taken into custody on charges of stealing a motor vehicle, stealing from a building, and two active Pettis County warrants.
A 41-year-old Sedalia woman was arrested on December 15 after a vehicle pursuit through Sedalia and Pettis County. According to Sedalia Police, a traffic stop was initiated on a black passenger car around 9:55 p.m. near 4th and Emmet when an officer recognized the driver as having warrants out for her arrest. The vehicle reportedly fled and a pursuit ensued. The vehicle was stopped on HH west of 135. Police say the driver than attempted to flee on foot, but was apprehended by officers. Carla L. Hayworth was arrested for a parole violation, two failure to appear warrants for driving while suspended, careless driving, driving while suspended and resisting arrest.
A woman wanted on a warrant for identity theft and a parole warrant was arrested on December 11 after deputies with the Pettis County Sheriff's Office received information that she was hiding in rural Benton County. The suspect was located by Benton County deputies and was taken into custody. Carla Renee Meek was transported to the Benton County/Pettis County line and Pettis County deputies transported her to the Pettis County Jail.
