Sedalia Police conducted a traffic stop on December 2 near the intersection of S. Grand Ave. and W. 14th St. around 9:21 p.m. According to police, the driver was found to be in possession of marijuana and suspect Ecstasy pills. 33-year-old Glenn T. Grant of Marshall was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail.


A traffic stop was conducted just after 1 a.m. on December 2 near the intersection of W. 16th St. and S. Beacon Ave. Police say the driver, 21-year-old Jesse L. Contreras, was found to be in possession of marijuana. Contreras was issued a municipal citation.


Police conducted a vehicle check around 4:30 a.m. on December 2 at S. Kentucky Ave. and W. 15th St. Police say the driver, 23-year-old Kayla M. Denny, was found to have an active Pettis County warrant for failure to appear, and was found to be in possession of marijuana. Denny was taken to the Pettis County Jail where she was booked and released.


A traffic stop was performed on November 30 around 10 p.m. on a red Chevrolet that was allegedly speeding, failed to signal a turn and disobeyed a stop sign. Sedalia Police report that the driver was operating the vehicle without a valid license, and was in possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. 27-year-old Travis Dale Martin of Sedalia was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail.


Two people were arrested December 3 after deputies with the Pettis Co. Sheriff's Office checked on a suspicious vehicle in the 3400 block of W. Broadway. The Pettis Co. Sheriff's Office says in a news release that the driver took off at a high rate of speed, and a passenger ran from the vehicle. The passenger, Brandon Lee High-Frump, was taken into custody on outstanding warrants after a short foot pursuit. Authorities say he was found to have methamphetamine hidden in a sock during a search at the Pettis County Jail. The vehicle was later stopped by the Missouri State Highway Patrol and Pettis Co. deputies. The driver, Kathleen Louise Heskett, was taken into custody on two counts of possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana, and endangering the welfare of a child.


On December 2, the Pettis County Sheriff's Office took a report of theft of tools from property in the 1300 block of E. Boonville Rd. Deputies have no leads or suspects in the case.


The Pettis County Sheriff's Office is investigating the theft of a motor vehicle from the 5500 block of S. Limit. Deputies took the theft report on December 3.
