Police arrested a 25-year-old man at Hardee's on E. Broadway on February 17. A caller told police that a suspect from a previous theft was inside the restaurant. Kalbe T. Kelch was contacted by officers and arrested for stealing.


A 26-year-old woman was arrested on February 17 after police responded to the 1900 block of S. Park and a shot was fired. Police were called to the residence around 2 a.m. Shortly after officers arrived, a shot reportedly rang out. The caller was placed in the back of a patrol vehicle and moved from the area. Police officers, sheriff's deputies and Highway Patrol troopers surrounded the house. The suspect came out after being contacted by phone. Jessie J. Cornwell was arrested on charges of unlawful use of a weapon and armed criminal action. She was taken to the Pettis County Jail.


A Pettis County warrant has been issued for the arrest of a Montana man who is accused of performing sexual acts, and asking a 13-year-old boy to perform sexual acts, while communicating through video chat sessions online. The Pettis County Sheriff's Office says Raymond L.E. Kennedy has an outstanding warrant for two counts of sexual exploitation of a minor child and four counts of sexual misconduct involving a child under 15 years of age. The Pettis County Sheriff's Office is coordinating with the Homeland Security's Investigations Division in Montanan to locate and apprehend Kennedy.


Police were called February 17 to the 200 block of S. Engineer Avenue, where a man told them he had been punched and a knife had been held to his throat. Police spoke with two suspects in the 1800 block of E. 6th. 56-year-old Mark Eugene Shull was arrested on charges including second degree assault, unlawful use of a weapon, and armed criminal action. 61-year-old Ira DeWayne Demois was arrested on one count of third degree assault. Both men were transported to the Pettis County Jail.


On February 17, deputies with the Pettis County Sheriff's Office investigated a complaint of illegal dumping int he 1500 block of East Boonville. The investigation is ongoing.
