Sedalia Police were dispatched to the 1400 block of S. Carr Avenue around 2:45 a.m. on March 18 to investigate an accident. A maroon Chevrolet Impala collided into a parked Kia Spectra, which was pushed backwards into a parked F350 truck. The Chevrolet and the Kia both sustained extensive damage and were towed from the scene. Police say the driver of the Chevrolet, 26-year-old David Shadale Cason of Sedalia, was intoxicated. He was arrested on a DWI charge.


On March 18 around 5:15 a.m., Sedalia officers on patrol in the area of S. Montgomery Avenue and E. 4th Street reportedly found a woman passed out behind the wheel of a parked vehicle facing northbound in the southbound lane. Police say the driver was intoxicated and was arrested on a municipal charge of DWI. 27-year-old Alicia Marie Sims was booked and released at the Pettis County Jail with a court date of May 2.


Sedalia Police were called on March 18 to the area of 10th and Prospect on a report of gunshots around 3 a.m. Officers made contact with the caller who said they heard a disturbance near their residence, and a short time later heard several gun shots. The caller said two bullets struck the front of his residence and traveled through the walls and into interior walls. No one was injured in the incident.


On March 17 police checked on a residence in the 1600 block of E. Broadway Blvd. in Sedalia that has been having issues with people breaking in. Police say they found a woman in possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia on the property around 9:20 p.m. 32-year-old Rachael Lynn Goltry was placed on a 24-hour hold at the Pettis County Jail, pending state charges.


A vehicle reported stolen out of Blue Springs was recovered in Sedalia on March 17. Police were conducting a follow-up investigation of a vehicle theft around 4:40 p.m. in the 1500 block of Heck Ave. when a vehicle was located that matched a vehicle seen on a surveillance camera. The vehicle was bearing plates that were registered to another vehicle. The plates were seized and the stolen vehicle was towed from the scene for safekeeping until the owner can recover it.


A 27-year-old Sedalia woman is accused of stealing over $400 in lottery tickets from her former employer. Police say they were called to Jiffy Stop in the 1700 block of W. Broadway on March 17 and were told that a former employee had made fictitious returns to hide that fact that she had stolen the tickets. Lori Friedrich was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail where she was booked and released for a state charge of stealing.


Pettis County deputies arrested Justin David Wollery for possession of marijuana near the intersection of S. Walnut and W. Mason St. in La Monte after he was contacted during an investigation into suspicious activity.


A man with an active no-bond warrant for rape or attempted rape was arrested by deputies with the Pettis County Sheriff's Office on March 16 in the 400 block of E. Mason in La Monte. Salvador Tolentino-Geronimo was transported to the Pettis County Jail.


A traffic stop on March 16 in La Monte led to the arrest of David Alexander Gonzales Juarez on charges of possession of drug paraphernalia, speeding, and failure to register a motor vehicle. Juarez was transported to the Pettis County Jail where he was processed and released on a summons.


A Cole Camp man was arrested on March 16 for stealing from Kohl's. Police say they noticed items concealed on the suspect, and after being arrested, 29-year-old Shane Steven Ruth was found to be in possession of controlled substances. Ruth was placed on a 24-hour hold at the Pettis County Jail.


On March 16 deputies responded to the 3500 block of S. Grand in Sedalia in reference to an active assault case being investigated by the Sedalia Police Department. Deputies learned that one of the parties involved had an active probation and parole warrant. Khwaume O. Combs of Sedalia was taken into custody.
