The following Sedalia Police and Pettis County Sheriff's reports come from the morning of Thursday, Nov. 22, 2012.

Two Vehicle Pursuits Occur in Pettis County

Yesterday afternoon (Nov. 21), Sedalia Police went to the area of 6th and Madison to investigate a careless driver that appeared intoxicated. Sedalia Police tried to do a traffic stop near Broadway and Engineer and a pursuit ensued. The driver led Sedalia Police out of the city limits, when Pettis County Deputies and the Missouri State Highway Patrol picked up the pursuit. The pursuit ended hear Highway M and Van Dyke Road in a brief stand off with 30-year-old Joshua Jones, who was armed with a handgun. Jones was taken into custody and no injuries were reported. Jones is currently being held in the Pettis County Jail pending the filing of formal charges. The Sedalia Police is requesting charges of careless driving, driving while revoked and felony resisting arrest.

Yesterday morning (Nov. 21), Sedalia Police went to Broadway and Limit to investigate a report of an erratic driver eastbound. Sedalia Police pulled the car over at 7th and Quincy and spoke with the suspect and gave him a verbal warning. After the warning, the car pulled out and ran a stop sign. Sedalia Police pursued the car to 6th and Missouri. Sedalia Police arrested Troy Wright for careless and imprudent driving and leaving the scene.  

Two Thefts Reported in Sedalia

A man from Jefferson City reported to Sedalia Police that his Iphone 3, valued at $300, was stolen while at Walmart on Nov. 20 between 3:55 and 4:15 p.m.

A woman reported to Sedalia Police the theft of several bottles of prescription drugs in the 300 Block of South Washington between Noon Nov. 20 and 8 a.m. Nov. 21.

Sedalia Police Make Three Arrests

Yesterday (Nov. 21), Sedalia Police went to the 900 Block of South Ohio for a disturbance. A woman reported to Sedalia Police that her roommate was intoxicated, damaged property and wouldn’t stop yelling. When Sedalia Police arrived, the suspect continued to display alarming noises and actions. Dale Kabler was arrested for a private disturbance, bond was set at $531.50 cash/surety.

Sedalia Police arrested Samuel Biggs for a peace disturbance and destruction of property, bond set at $283.

Sedalia Police arrested Dylan Garcia for failure to appear, bond set at $250 cash only.
