Sting Unit Targets a Home in the 700 Block of East 9th

Early this morning the Sedalia Police Department Sting Unit served a search warrant at 915 East 9th. According to a press release from the police department, 42-year-old Angela Blanski, and a minor were found in the home, along with methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. At the time of the press release, Blanski was in the Pettis County Jail pending formal charges.

17-year-old Student Arrested  on Charge of Making a Terrorist Threat

On Tuesday Sedalia Police, a sheriff’s deputy, the school’s resource officer and school district officials learned a student had threatened to bring a weapon to school. A press release from the Sedalia Police Department states 17-year-old Steven Birkett of Sedalia made the threat online. Birkett was located prior to getting into the school and arrested. The press release says he was transported to the Pettis County Jail pending a charge of making a terrorist threat.

21-year-old Female Homeless Person is Arrested Tuesday on Multiple Charges

At 6:44 Tuesday evening, Sedalia police stopped a vehicle that was reportedly attempting to avoid them. The police report states the vehicle was stopped in an alleyway near the 1500 block of South Missouri. The report also says the driver attempted to run away, but was caught a short time later. Arrested in the incident was 21-year-old Lacy Ische, identified as a homeless person in the police report. At the time of the police report Ische was on 24-hour hold pending charges, of resisting arrest, operating a motor vehicle without a license, and possession of marijuana.

Local Siding Company Reports Theft by Persons Known to Them

At 2 o’clock Tuesday afternoon, R&J Siding Company of 2307 West Main reported three suspects known to them stole $250 worth of items from the business sometime Saturday. The police report states an investigation is still ongoing into the thefts.
