The following Sedalia Police crime reports are from the afternoon of Feb. 11, 2013.

6-year-old child bit by a dog Sunday afternoon

Just after 3:00 Sunday afternoon, Sedalia Police responded to a residence in the 400 block of Albright Court on a child with a dog bite. Upon arrival, officers located a 6-year-old child with a dog bite. A short time later, the medium sized pit bull was located. At the time of the police report, the victim had been taken to Bothwell Hospital for treatment and the dog had been transported to the animal shelter for quarantine.

44-year-old Sedalia man arrested Sunday night on a Pettis County Warrant

At 10:17 Sunday night, Sedalia police conducted an investigative stop on a vehicle at 17th and Osage when a check through dispatch revealed the registration showed an owner with a Pettis County Warrant. Upon contact with the driver, 44-year-old William Warren of Sedalia, the warrant for a drug related offense was confirmed. He was arrested and transported to the Pettis County jail pending a $5000 bond on the warrant.

Traffic stop results in arrest for a 20-year-old Sedalia man

Around 9:20 Saturday night, Sedalia police stopped a vehicle at Broadway and Thompson Blvd. for driving without headlights. A subsequent check on the driver, 20-year-old  Miguel Zaragoza of Sedalia, found he was a revoked driver. Zaragoza was arrested and taken to the Pettis County Jail pending a $533.50 bond.

Vehicle stop at 6th and Center Sunday night lands a man in jail

At 8:35 Sunday night, Sedalia police stopped a vehicle at 6th and Center for improper registration. Upon contact with the driver, 25-year-old Jeremy Schmadeke of Sedalia, he was found to be a suspended driver. Schmadeke was arrested and transported to the Pettis County jail pending a $533.50 bond.

Kansas City woman stopped for speeding Sunday night

Just before 7:30 Sunday night, Sedalia police observed a vehicle going 50 mph in a 40 mph zone. The vehicle was stopped at Broadway and Harding. Upon contact with the driver, 26-year-old Amanda Swartz of Kansas City, Missouri, she was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail where she was booked and released with a court date.

Burglars steal woman’s television from her house Friday night

At 8:22 Friday night, a victim in the 700 block of East 9th reported her home was entered and a television was taken. There was no value placed on the television, but the victim was able to provide suspect information to the police.

Dealer tag stolen from a local car lot over the weekend

Sedalia Auto at 3000 Clinton Road reported the theft of a dealer tag to the Sedalia Police on Sunday afternoon. According to the complainant, someone took the tag off of a vehicle on their sales lot sometime overnight. There were no suspects at news time.

Dual Screen DVD player stolen from a vehicle Saturday

On Sunday afternoon, a victim in the 400 block of East Jackson reported an RCA Dual Screen DVD Player was stolen from his vehicle. The theft reportedly took place sometime after 8:00 Saturday night. There were no suspects.
