Homeless man arrested on multiple charges Sunday night

At 11:27 Sunday night, Sedalia police observed a subject walking in the 300 block of East 6th who reportedly ran from officers. The suspect, identified as 36-year-old Timothy Davis, was located a short time later hiding under a vehicle in the 400 block of east 5th. A check through dispatch revealed Davis had a warrant for a parole violation. Davis was also found to be in possession of methamphetamine according to the police report. At the time of the police report, Davis was on 24-hour hold in the Pettis County jail pending formal charges for the parole violation warrant, possession of a controlled substance and resisting arrest.

28-year-old Sedalia man arrested during a traffic stop early Saturday morning

Just before 1:00 Saturday morning, Sedalia police stopped a vehicle in the 1400 block of South Limit for exceeding the speed limit. Upon contact with the driver, 28-year-old Alexander Cason of Sedalia, the officer detected the odor of alcohol. An investigation resulted in the arrest of Alexander who was taken to the Pettis County jail pending a $667.50 bond on charges of driving while intoxicated, and open container.

Sedalia man arrested for failure to appear warrant on back fines

Around 2:15 Friday afternoon, Sedalia police arrested 21-year-old Samuel Watson of Sedalia on a Sedalia Municipal warrant for failure to appear on back fines. Bond was set at $300 cash only.

Police investigate a possible child abuse case in Sedalia

According to a Sedalia police report, a mother has reported a case involving possible inappropriate touching of her children by a suspect known to her. The incident reportedly took place in the 1000 block of West 3rd. An investigation is currently underway.

Big Lots in Thompson Hills Shopping Center reports a theft

At 4:30 Sunday afternoon, Sedalia police responded to Big Lots in the Thompson Hills Shopping Center on a theft complaint. Upon arrival, officers spoke to a witness who works for the store. According to the witness, she was leaving work when she saw a man and a woman putting a 16' swimming pool into the back of an older Ford Explorer and leave the area. When she inquired inside the store, she found no one had purchased a pool. The male suspect was described as in his 30’s, medium height dark hair and wearing dark shorts. The female suspect was approximately 5’5” tall, 30’s dark hair wearing a pink tank top and dark shorts. The woman had a tattoo on her right leg. The witness was able to get a license number, and an investigation is ongoing.

Real Estate Agent finds the home he is showing has been burglarized

At noon on Friday, Sedalia police received a burglary complaint from a real estate salesman who was showing a home in the 700 block of Wilkerson Avenue. According to the salesman, someone cut the wiring out of the basement of the home sometime between June 8 and the June 28. There were no suspects at news time.

Theft from a motor vehicle reported Saturday morning on East Saline

Around 9:30 Saturday morning, Sedalia police took a report of thefts from a motor vehicle from a female victim in the 400 block of East Saline. According to the victim, someone entered her locked vehicle and stole three cell phone chargers, a cell phone, an external battery, three necklaces and two sets of earrings. Value of the stolen items was set at approximately $125. There was no information on a possible suspect in the police report.

Property damage reported on a vehicle on South Barrett

On Sunday, a female victim filed a property damage complaint with the Sedalia Police Department. The victim told officers that sometime after 4:00 that afternoon, someone broke the windshield of her vehicle while it was parked in the 600 block of South Barrett. There were no suspects in the case and no damage estimate was available at news time.
