Here are your Sedalia Police crime reports and accident reports for the afternoon of July 31, 2012.

 

Subject check on Liberty Park Blvd results in arrest for 64-year-old suspect

At 9:10 this morning, Sedalia police arrested 64-year-old William Akau of Sedalia on a Cooper County Warrant during a subject check at a residence in the 1200 block of Liberty Park Blvd. At the time of the report, Akau was being held in the Pettis County Jail pending a $4500 cash only bond.

 

61-year-old Sedalia woman arrested at the K-Mart Store for stealing Monday afternoon

At 12:49 Monday afternoon Sedalia police were dispatched to the K-Mart Store at 1400 South Limit in reference to a theft complaint. Upon contact with loss prevention personnel officers were told the suspect, 61-year-old Deborah Steele of Sedalia was observed on security tapes taking items and leaving the store without paying for them. Steele was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail on 24-hour hold pending formal charges.

 

Sedalia man turns himself in on a failure to appear warrant out of Johnson County

According to a Sedalia Police report, 50-year-old Lowell Corbett of Sedalia walked into the Sedalia Police Department just after 9 o’clock Monday morning and informed the officers he had a Johnson County Warrant for failure to appear. Corbett was arrested  and taken to the Pettis County Jail pending a $1000 bond.

 

Victim reports her room at Truman Inn was entered and items were taken

At 10:16 Monday morning, Sedalia police took a theft complaint from a victim at the Truman Inn at 3501 West Broadway. The victim told officers she was taken to the hospital for a medical condition around midnight the night before, and when she returned to her room she found things missing. The police report states there is a suspect in the case.

 

Stolen gun from Kansas pawned locally is turned over to Sedalia police

Monday morning Sedalia police were dispatched to the Osage Thrift Shop at 116 West Main on the report of a gun, that was stolen in Kansas, and pawned here. The police report states the 30-06 was placed into police hold pending an investigation.

 

Local Lawn Care business reports a case of forgery

Monday afternoon a complainant from GLS Lawn Care in Sedalia reported a check was stolen by a suspect, which he made out to himself, then cashed. The incident is under investigation.

 

Sedalia woman arrested at the Probation and Parole Office Monday afternoon

At 2:24 Monday afternoon, Sedalia police arrested 31-year-old Rachael Campbell at the Probation and Parole Office on an active warrant, out of the City of Sedalia. She was taken to the Pettis County Jail pending a $125 cash only bond.

 

Lafayette County accident injures a 37-year-old Parkville man

At 10:20 Monday morning, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a 3-vehicle accident on Missouri “20” at Missouri  “23” in Lafayette County. The accident occurred as a 2011 Dodge driven by 70-year-old Patricia Brandt of Concordia reportedly pulled into the path of a 2008 Yamaha driven by Albert Severino of Parkview, causing his vehicle to strike the Brandt vehicle in the passenger side door. The Yamaha then overturned and Severino was ejected. The accident then says the Yamaha struck a stationary 2003 ford. Severino received moderate injuries, and was transported by air ambulance to Research Hospital for treatment. Charges are pending according to the report.
