The following Sedalia Police crime reports and Missouri State Highway Patrol accident reports are from the afternoon of Nov. 5, 2013.

Sedalia man arrested on multiple charges  Monday afternoon

At 1:22 Monday afternoon, Sedalia police investigated a disturbance at a residence in the 1300 block of South Ohio. According to the police report, officers arrested a suspect involved in the disturbance involving a female he had children in common with. Following an investigation, officers arrested 25-year-old Ochoa Marco Antonio Lopez of Sedalia on multiple charges including burglary, sexual abuse 1st degree, assault 3rd degree and resisting and interfering with arrest, a felony. At the time of the police report, Lopez was in the Pettis County Jail on 24-hour hold pending formal charges.

Suspect with a warrant arrested at the Municipal Court Office Monday evening

Just before 5:00 Monday evening, Sedalia police arrested a suspect with a warrant at the Municipal Court Office at city hall. The police report states that 25-year-old Devin Hughes of Sedalia was transported to the Pettis County Jail on a Pettis County Warrant for possession of marijuana. Bond on the warrant was set at $2500.

Liberty, Mo. man arrested on a probation violation warrant

Around 4:00 Monday afternoon, Sedalia police investigated a subject sitting on the steps of a residence in the 900 block of South Missouri. A check on the subject, identified as 24-year-old Casey Allred of Liberty, Mo., revealed he had a warrant out of Pettis County for a probation violation. Allred was arrested at the scene and transported to the Pettis County Jail where he was being held on the no-bond warrant, at the time of the police report.

Cole Camp man in jail on domestic assault charges

At 4:00 this (Tuesday) morning, Sedalia police investigated a reported assault that occurred in the 400 block of East Broadway. According to the female victim, her ex-boyfriend, 40-year-old Robert Leggiero of Cole Camp, had assaulted her. Following an investigation, Leggiero was arrested and taken to the Pettis County Jail pending formal charges.

Theft Complaints from the Sedalia Police Department

At 4:16 Monday afternoon a victim at Heber Hunt Elementary School filed a theft complaint with the Sedalia police. According to the victim, her cell phone valued at between $450 and $500 was stolen from her 4th grade classroom. The victim stated she thought it was taken by a student.

On Monday morning, a complainant with Rac Jac Properties of Sedalia reported that thieves had entered one of their properties in the 900 block of South Prospect and stole copper wiring and plumbing from the basement of the home. Replacement cost was estimated at $2500

Walmart reported the theft of $71.52 in merchandise by a female suspect. The Sedalia police report states the suspect is being sought.

Arkansas woman injured Monday night in Henry County accident

Just after 9:00 Monday morning, the Missouri State Highway patrol reported an injury accident that occurred on Missouri Highway “7” North of Northwest 701 Road in Henry County. The accident reportedly happened as the 1997 Pontiac Bonneville driven by 45-year-old James Webb of Selby, South Dakota, traveled off the right side of the roadway and struck a guardrail. The vehicle then returned to the roadway, ran off the left side of the roadway and struck a bridge rail before crossing the center line again and coming to rest on the shoulder. A passenger, 34-year-old Kristie Ragsdale of Mountain Home, Ark., was not wearing her seat belt and received moderate injuries. She was transported to Golden Valley Hospital for treatment.

Warrensburg man is injured in a Johnson County accident Sunday

At 5:35 Sunday evening, 21-year-old Ryan Romaker of Warrensburg was injured when he swerved his 1995 Suzuki to avoid a deer on Route BB North of Southwest 400 Road in Johnson County. The Missouri State Highway Patrol report states the Suzuki traveled off the roadway and overturned, ejecting Romaker. Romaker suffered moderate injuries and was taken to Western Missouri Medical Center by private vehicle for treatment.

Sedalia child and a Nelson man receive injuries in a Pettis County accident Saturday afternoon

Around 12:30 Saturday afternoon, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a two-vehicle accident that occurred on Cedar Drive at Reine Avenue in Pettis County. The accident reportedly happened when the 2000 Dodge driven by 28-year-old James Smith of Sedalia pulled into the path of a 2005 KIA driven by Rebecca King of Nelson, causing the King vehicle to strike the passenger side of the Smith vehicle. King received minor injuries in the accident and was taken to Bothwell Regional Health Center for treatment. A passenger in the Smith vehicle, 10-year-old Logan Davis of Sedalia, suffered minor injuries and was transported by Pettis County EMS to Bothwell Hospital for treatment.
