Police arrested a 37-year-old Sedalia man on December 10 after being dispatched to a burglary in progress at Country Kitchen. A suspect was reportedly throwing rocks at the back windows of the restaurant, and dispatch told officers they were alerted to motion alarms going off inside the building. When police arrived, a witness pointed out the suspect who was walking northbound behind Kehde's BBQ. The witness said that the suspect had exited Country Kitchen through a broken window. Aaron M. Stevenson was arrested for second degree burglary and first degree property damage.

A Sedalia woman was arrested on December 9 following an accident in which a KCP&L utility pole was struck near S. Ingram Ave. and E. 24th St. Police say an investigation revealed that 34-year-old Tara Michelle Karkiewicz had operated a motor vehicle while intoxicated and collided with the pole. She was arrested and taken to Bothwell Regional Health Center for medical evaluation. Police are requesting charges of driving with an expired license, DWI and leaving the scene of an accident.
