A Sedalia Police officer was on patrol Sunday night around 11:30 westbound on Main near State Fair Blvd., when he noticed an oncoming car traveling directly towards him on the wrong side of the road. He then activated his emergency lights and the driver moved over, but then pulled back to the wrong side of the road after passing the patrol car. The officer then turned around and made a car stop at Main and Gentry. The driver, 33-year-old Martez Lamont Troy, Jr., was found to be intoxicated. Troy was taken into custody and transported to the Pettis County Jail, where he was booked and released on charges of DWI prior offender, and driving while revoked.


 

Sedalia Police arrested 18-year-old Jada Monique Ward in the 500 block of North Misouri on Tuesday morning after an officer saw a black male being pursued by a black female wielding a length of pipe. Ward was charged with 2nd degree domestic assault.


 

On Tuesday, a man reported that his trailer, valued at $1900. was stolen from his backyard sometime between 7:30 p.m. Monday and 4:30 p.m. Tuesday in the 3000 block of South Ohio.


 

On Tuesday, police responded to the Pettis County Courthouse, 415 South Ohio, at 12:47 a.m. after witnesses said they saw a male take a bunting flag from the courthouse and throw it on the Veterans Memorial flame, causing it to burn. The suspect, 61-year-old Whitt Beard, was located a short distance away and taken into custody. He was charged with 2nd degree property damage.
