A 25-year-old Sedalia man was arrested on trespassing and littering charges after police took a report on March 12 of someone burning copper on the property of DeLong's. Police say they were shown photos of the suspect, who was known to officers. Cody Christian Paxton was contacted at his home, and after a short interview he was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail, where he was booked and released.


Police are investigating the theft of over $2,000 worth of wire from a construction site, and $5,000 in property damage. Police were called to the site on Lamm Drive and were told that someone had cut out several short lengths from already installed wire. The incident reportedly occurred overnight between March 12 and March 13.


Two people were arrested on March 13 after being stopped in a black Ford F-150 with expired plates. Sedalia Police say both suspects had active warrants, and one was found to be in possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. 22-year-old Shyanne Nichole Meyer was arrested on charges including drug possession, possession of drug paraphernalia, and failure to appear. 43-year-old Robert Leroy Lynch was arrested for failure to appear. Both suspects were taken to the Pettis County Jail.
