Here are your Sedalia Police crime reports for the morning of Dec. 19, 2012.

Sedalia police investigate a dead body Monday evening

Just after 6:00 Monday evening, Sedalia police received a call on a dead body in the 2500 block of East 12th. Upon arrival officers found an 81-year-old man,who had died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Traffic stop results in drug related charges for a Sedalia man

At 12:33 Tuesday morning, Sedalia police stopped a vehicle at 12th and Ohio for not signaling for a turn. Upon contact with the driver, officers smelled the odor of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle. The driver, 22-year-old Wesley Mueller of Sedalia, was found to be in possession of methamphetamine, marijuana and drug paraphernalia.  At the time of the police report, Mueller was on 24-hour hold pending formal charges.

17-year-old Sedalia man arrested on warrants following a traffic stop

Around 9:15 Monday night, Sedalia police conducted a traffic stop in the 2800 block of West Broadway on a vehicle with a defective headlight. Upon contact with the 17-year-old driver, Timothy Ovesychuck of Sedalia, he was found to have two active warrants. He was arrested and taken to the Pettis County jail pending bonds totaling $2531.50.

Thieves steals a vehicle in the 1500 block of East 4th

Just before noon on Monday, Sedalia police were dispatched to the 1500 block of East 4th on a vehicle theft. Upon arrival, the victim told them someone had stolen his 1998 Honda. The keys were reportedly left on the front seat of the unlicensed vehicle. There were no suspects at news time.

Two suspects are known in a burglary case on West 4th

Around 2:00 Monday afternoon, Sedalia police were dispatched to a residence in the 300 block of West 4th on a burglary complaint. According to the victims, the thieves entered through the back door and went to the basement, where they damaged a coin operated washer and dryer. The thieves also stole some items from a storage shed on the property. The police report states there are two suspects in the case.

Casey’s at 1909 West Main reported a gas drive off in the amount of $58.69 Monday night. The suspect and the vehicle were both described in detail in the police report, and a license plate number is in evidence in the case.
